Automatic Identification System
Description:
The course provides theoretical guidance and practical exercises to enable masters and deck officers to become familiar with operation of Automatic Identification Systems.
Theoretical guidance will be given in the form of lecture.
A practical exercise will take palce in a full mission bridge simulator involving a variety of scenarios that are likely to occur on a merchant vessel.
Objectives:
Trainees who successfully complete the course will have a comprehensive understanding of how to effectively use AIS and AIS derived information.

Entry Standards:
This course is open to masters and deck officers.
Minimum number of participants is four (4) and the maximum is eight (8).
Duration:
1 day (6 hrs)
Certification:
A certificate of successful completion shall be issued to those participants who successfully complete the course and meet the assessment criteria.
