Free Fall Lifeboat Coxswain Course

Description:

The course syllabus covers the competencies that are considered necessary to act as coxswain during launching, operation and recovery of a freefall lifeboat.

Objectives:

Trainees who successfully complete the course shall have met the minimum standard of competence considered necessary to act as coxswain of a freefall lifeboat.

Course Outline:

  • Free fall lifeboat coxswain and crew responsibilities
  • Free fall lifeboat launch and recovery
  • Practical exercises involving launching, manoeuvring and recovery of the freefall lifeboat.
Entry Standards:

This course is open to those seafarers who are holders of a valid certificate of training in Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats.
Trainees shall be medically fit for physical training.
Minimum number of participants is four (4) and maximum is sixteen (16).

Duration:

2 days (13.5 hrs)

Certification:

A certificate of successful completion shall be issued to those participants who successfully complete the course and meet the assessment criteria.

Accreditation:

Panama Maritime Authority
