Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator Course
Description:
This course aims to provide training for operational level deck and engineering officers with responsibilities in cargo handling in particular to loading, care in transit of cargo, unloading, tank cleaning, gas freeing and inerting. This training includes theoretical as well as practical application of such knowledge through the use of liquid cargo handling simulator.
Objectives:
At the end of this training course, participants will be able to:
- Identify and perform the different cargo operations carried out by crude oil tankers including the operation of inert gas system and crude oil washing system
- Describe and perform tank cleaning and gas freeing cargo tanks in accordance with the standards accepted by the industry
- Understand and apply contingency measures in the event of emergency during such operations
Entry Standards:
The course is designated for shipboard personnel who are responsible for navigation and passage planning. This course is open to seafarers who have completed a Tanker Familiarization Course and/or Tanker Specialized Training Courses as stipulated in Section A-V/1 of the STCW Code and/or have at least 1 year experience on a crude oil carrier.
Duration:
40 hours (5 days)
Certification:
A certificate of successful completion shall be issued to those trainees who complete the course and meet the assessment criteria.
