Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain Course
Description:
The course syllabus covers the competencies considered necessary to take charge of a lifeboat installed on an offshore installation. Courses are available in free fall or twin fall type lifeboats.
Objectives:
Trainees who successfully complete this course shall be able to demonstrate the required minimum standard of competence for taking charge of launching, operating and recovery of a lifeboat installed on an offshore installation.
Entry Standards:
This course is open to persons holding a valid OPITO BOSIET course certificate.
Trainees shall be medically fit for physical training.
Minimum number of participants is four (4) and maximum is twelve (12).
Duration:
4 days (32hrs)
Certification:
A certificate of successful completion shall be issued to those participants who successfully complete the course and meet the assessment criteria.
