Rescue Boats (STCW) Course
Description:
The course syllabus covers the mandatory minimum requirements prescribed in Regulation VI/2 and Section A-VI/2-2 of STCW '95. The course includes exercises in rescue boats with both waterjet and outboard propulsion systems and exercises at night.
Objectives:
Trainees who successfully complete this course shall be able to demonstrate the required minimum standard of competence set out in Table A-VI/2-2 of STCW '95 for seafarers who may be designated to launch and take charge of a fast rescue boat in emergency situations.
Entry Standards:
This course is open to those seafarers who are:
- Not be less than 18 years of age.
- Medically fit for physical training.
- Holders of a valid certificate of training in Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats.
Minimum number of participants is four (4) and maximum is twelve (12).
Duration:
3 days (24hrs)
Certification:
A certificate of successful completion shall be issued to those participants who successfully complete the course and meet the assessment criteria.
