Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats

Description:

The course syllabus covers the mandatory minimum requirements prescribed in Regulation VI/2 and Section A-VI/2-1 of STCW '95.

Objectives:

Trainees who successfully complete this course shall be able to demonstrate the required minimum standard of competence set out in Table A-VI/2-1 of STCW '95 for seafarers who may be designated to take charge of the preparation, embarkation, launching and handling of survival craft.

Entry Standards:

This course is open to those seafarers who are:

  1. Not be less than 18 years of age.
  2. Medically fit for physical training.
  3. Holders of a valid certificate of training in Basic Safety or Personal Survival Techniques.
Minimum number of participants is ten (10) and maximum is sixteen (16).

Duration:

4 days (31.5hrs)

Certification:

A certificate of successful completion shall be issued to those participants who successfully complete the course and meet the assessment criteria.
