Ship Security Officer Course

Description:

This course aims to provide knowledge and guidance to those who may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Ship Security Officer, as defined in the ISPS code, and in particular the duties and responsibilities with respect to the security of a ship, for implementing and maintaining a Ship Security Plan and for liaising with the Company Security Officer and with Port Facility Security Officers.

Objectives:

Trainees who successfully complete this course should be able to undertake the duties and responsibilities as Ship Security Officer, as defined in the ISPS Code.

Entry Standards:

This course is open to seafarers that are likely to be designated as Ship Security Officer.
Minimum number of participants is four (4) and maximum is twenty four (24).

Duration:

2 days (13hrs)

Certification:

A certificate of successful completion shall be issued to those participants who successfully complete the course and meet the assessment criteria.

Vanuatu Maritime Services Limited
